Attention breakfast lovers! Williamsburg, Virginia, known as the “Pancake Capital of the World”, is hosting its first-ever Pancake Festival on September 26-27, 2025. The town has more pancake restaurants than anywhere else, making this festival a perfect celebration for food fans.
About the Festival
Edward Harris, CEO of Visit Williamsburg, said the festival reflects the town’s warmth, creativity, and community spirit. The two-day event promises delicious food, fun entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

Friday Evening (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.): National Pancake Day celebration at the Hellenic Center. Guests can enjoy pancakes for dinner, live music, a Pancake Lab for kids, and face painting. Pajamas are encouraged!

Saturday Morning (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.): The fun moves to Merchant’s Square during the Farmers Market. Highlights include the Sausage Sprint, a dachshund dog race, pancake-themed storytime, and the World Pancake Eating Championship with professional eaters like Miki Sudo.
Pancake Trail
Alongside the festival, Williamsburg is launching the Pancake Trail. Visitors can explore the best pancake spots, including Shorty’s Diner, Astronomical Pancake House, and Southern Pancake Waffle House. Using the app, you can check in, earn points, and get a T-shirt or free festival tickets.
