Little Rock, Arkansas, is about an eight-hour drive from Atlanta. Each visit feels a little different, with new sights to see and things to do. Recently, I went there for the World Cheese Dip Championship 2025, shopped in SoMa (South Main), and explored restaurants in The Heights.

A Bit of History
Founded in 1821, Little Rock is named after an actual “little rock” on the riverfront. French explorers spotted it in 1722 and called it “le petite roche.” Originally Quapaw land, it became an important trading hub. Famous residents include Bill Clinton and General Douglas MacArthur.
