Skaneateles, a picturesque village in upstate New York, feels like it belongs in a snow globe. Nestled along the northern tip of Skaneateles Lake, it offers a magical winter escape with snowy streets, cozy boutiques, and a scenic lakeside view.

Our adventure began with a walk along the Charlie Major Nature Trail, where we admired old railroad remnants before warming up with craft beer at Skaneateles Brewery. Dinner at Elephant and the Dove was a treat, featuring flavorful tacos and a pitcher of margaritas. The next morning, we ventured to Auburn Bagel Company for fresh, New York-style bagels—worth every bite.

A visit to the frozen Carpenter Falls offered breathtaking views, followed by a stop at Anyela’s Vineyards, where we enjoyed wine tastings paired with a delicious charcuterie board. For our final night, we cozied up at our cabin with wood-fired pizza from Gilda’s, watching the snowfall.

Skaneateles is truly a dreamy winter retreat, perfect for a weekend escape!
