A record number of Americans will retire in the next two years, and many are looking for the best place to enjoy their golden years.
According to Niche.com’s latest rankings, Scottsdale, Arizona, has been named the best city to retire in the U.S. The ranking was based on factors like affordability, housing, diversity, public schools, and walkability.
Why Scottsdale?
Zach Chatham from Niche.com described Scottsdale as “the perfect oasis for retirement” due to its great weather, outdoor activities, and health-focused lifestyle. The city received an A rating overall, with most residents owning their homes.
The median rent in Scottsdale is around $1,900 per month, while the median home price is just under $710,000. The city also scored B+ for diversity and offers a mix of modern city life and Old West charm.
A Scottsdale resident shared their experience, saying:
“The desert views are stunning, and there’s plenty to do—from hiking Camelback Mountain to exploring the art scene and nightlife in Old Town. Summers are hot, but winters are perfect. It’s on the pricier side, but the restaurants, shopping, and outdoor activities make it worth it.”
