According to a study shared with Travel + Leisure, Buffalo stands out because it hosts hundreds of holiday events — nearly 800 every year. The city also gets plenty of December snowfall, usually more than 25 inches, which adds to the festive atmosphere.
Another bonus: Hotels cost less than $170 per night during Christmas, and there is a 53% chance of having snow on Christmas Day — perfect for anyone dreaming of a white Christmas.
One of the city’s top attractions is the Buffalo Holiday Market, a European-style market with handmade crafts, local foods, and Santa visits. Travelers can also enjoy the Tom and Jerry Trail, where you can taste Buffalo’s famous holiday drink — a warm mix of rum, brandy, and spices — at more than a dozen stops.
