When Can You Visit at Night?
The Taj Mahal opens for night viewing only five nights a month—on the full moon night, two nights before, and two nights after. It remains closed on Fridays and during Ramzan.
Timings & Entry Slots
- Night viewing is from 8:30 PM to 12:30 AM
- Visitors get 30 minutes per slot
- Only 50 people per slot
- Entry is from the eastern gate, and you must arrive at Shilpgram complex 30 minutes before your slot
How to Book Tickets
Tickets are available only in person at the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) office in Agra. You can buy them a day before your visit between 9 AM and 5 PM.

A Secret Spot for Fridays
Since the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, you can still see it from Mehtab Bagh, a beautiful garden across the Yamuna River. This spot offers a great view of the Taj at night without any time restrictions.
