The study looked at America’s 50 safest and wealthiest retirement towns, and Oro Valley came in third overall, right after Pinehurst, North Carolina, and Hot Springs Village, Arkansas — making it the top pick in the West.
Located just north of Tucson, Oro Valley is loved for its clean air, beautiful mountain views, and active outdoor lifestyle. Retirees can enjoy golf courses, hiking, and biking with stunning views of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The town even maintains 30 miles of trails, making it perfect for people who love nature and fitness.
Of course, this kind of lifestyle comes at a price — homes in Oro Valley usually cost more than $500,000.
To create the list, GOBankingRates used data from the U.S. Census, Zillow, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. They studied towns where at least 20% of people are 65 or older, checking retirement income, cost of living, home prices, and crime rates.
