British Indian designer Rav Matharu made history on Savile Row three years ago with his streetwear-luxury fusion brand, clothsurgeon. Hitting a first in London’s prestigious Mayfair area, Matharu became the first South Asian store owner here. A former footballer turned fashion designer, he’s been redefining men’s luxury fashion for over a decade, dressing stars like Nas, A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, and Travis Scott.

Morning Coffee & Breakfast in London

Rav kicks off his day with a coconut flat white from Hagen, his favorite coffee spot. For a hearty start, he loves Cecconi’s, Hide, The Wolseley, and Dishoom, which brings nostalgic Mumbai flavors right to London.

Best Bars & Pubs

For a classic British pint, he heads to The Burlington Arms. Cocktail lovers can enjoy 42 lounge near Gymkhana, famous for old-fashioned martinis and vesper cocktails.

Must-Try Restaurants

Rav’s London favorites for Michelin-starred Indian cuisine include Jamavar, Tamarind, Gymkhana, and Manthan. For comfort food with nostalgia, Dishoom never disappoints, while Berenjak Soho serves incredible Persian flavors.

Shopping & Hidden Gems

Fashion-forward travelers should check out Adret for chic silhouettes and Burlington Arcade for luxury shoes, jewelry, vintage watches, and timeless British craftsmanship. Vintage lovers will enjoy Portobello Road Market and Camden Market, while Sir John Soane’s Museum is perfect for antique collectors and design inspiration.

Art & Culture

Rav finds creative inspiration at Sprüth Magers gallery, the V&A Museum, and Dover Street Market, blending contemporary art with historic influences.

South Asian Music & Culture

Rav celebrates Punjabi culture through Jawani 4eva parties, a vibrant celebration of music, youth, and tradition. He also supports Meeting Rivers, a platform highlighting South Asian storytelling and music. British Punjabi artist Raf-Saperra is another favorite of his.

Classic British Tailoring

For traditional tailoring, he recommends Anderson & Sheppard. And of course, clothsurgeon bridges modern streetwear with classic Savile Row craftsmanship, making it a must-visit for fashion enthusiasts.
