W New York—Union Square is back after a $100 million renovation. First opened in 2001, the hotel has been redesigned to blend luxury, modern style, and local New York touches, while keeping its historic charm.

The hotel now has 265 guest rooms and suites, including a spacious Penthouse Suite. Guests can enjoy a modern gym, wellness area, and Peloton studio. The building keeps its original 1911 Beaux-Arts details, like the historic façade and marble arches, while updated spaces showcase modern design inspired by Manhattan and Union Square.

Guest rooms include thoughtful touches like light fixtures inspired by Manhattanhenge, bedside tables with black-and-gold design reflecting the Union Square Metronome, and checkerboard details inspired by the park’s chess players.

Food and drinks are a highlight at the hotel. The new signature restaurant, Seahorse, opens September 24, 2025, offering seafood, a raw bar, and seasonal dishes from local markets. The restaurant has a vintage nautical vibe with wood paneling and striped floors.

The Living Room combines Beaux-Arts charm with modern gold-and-navy furnishings and has an adjoining cafe serving coffee by day and cocktails by night. The hotel also features Union Square’s only rooftop bar, offering stunning views of the Manhattan skyline.

W New York—Union Square now combines history, style, and local energy to give guests a true New York experience.
