A new bar called Idoru has opened right above Izumi in Bandra, and it’s already the talk of the town. The 28-seat space is packed on opening night—music playing on vinyl, colourful highballs, and fun Japanese-style snacks everywhere. The vibe feels like a cool, stylish house party.

A Bar Made for Music Lovers

Idoru is created by the Izumi team, who wanted a place focused on great music. The bar plays everything—soul, hip-hop, funk, disco, and more. Big blue speakers fill the room with warm sound, and the shelves are lined with Japanese gin, whisky, and classic records.

Drinks That Stand Out

Sake expert Maaya Takaoka has designed a special sake menu. There are also six exciting highballs made with gin, mezcal, tequila, shochu, and sake. Each drink has its own flavour—salty, sour, spicy, sweet, or umami.

Small Plates With a Japanese Twist

Chef Nooresha Kably has created a short but fun menu. Some favourites include:

  • Japanese-style fish & chips

  • Flatbread with creamy dashi mascarpone

  • Two types of sushi

  • A cosy mini rice bowl from her childhood recipe

Everything is quick, tasty, and perfect to enjoy with drinks.

A Unique Sound Experience

The bar has a custom-made sound system and a handpicked collection of vinyl from different parts of the world. Music journalist Bhanuj Kappal curates the playlist, mixing classics with global sounds—from funk to Punjabi disco.
