Rustic Pathways, a student travel company, recently revealed the most searched-for road trips in the U.S. They analyzed Google searches for routes like “Route 66,” “Hana Highway,” and “The Loneliest Road” to see which trips people are most curious about.

The Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) topped the list, with over 257,000 searches per month. This famous California route runs along the West Coast and offers stunning coastal views, passing places like Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, Big Sur mountains, and beaches like Pismo and Huntington Beach.

Coming in second was Route 66, with 191,000 searches per month. The historic route stretches from Chicago to Santa Monica and has multiple museums dedicated to its history.

Third place went to Big Sur Road Trip with 172,000 searches, a section of California’s Highway 1 known for breathtaking views, including Bixby Creek Bridge and McWay Falls.

Other popular routes in the top 10 include Blue Ridge Parkway, Hana Highway, Going-to-the-Sun Road, Oregon Trail, Southern Pacific Route, Beartooth Highway, and Lincoln Highway.

Shayne Fitz-Coy, CEO of Rustic Pathways, says, “Road trips are one of the best ways to explore America. Traveling with family and friends, enjoying scenic views, and listening to your favorite playlist makes it an unforgettable adventure.”
