When Vanshika met Sheetij in April, their connection was instant. “My brother-in-law knew Sheetij and thought we’d be perfect for each other, so he introduced us,” shared Vanshika.

The Proposal

A few months later, Sheetij planned a big surprise. He proposed to Vanshika on a yacht by the famous riverfront in Kolkata. She thought they were going for a family dinner, but instead, there was a red carpet, fireworks, and a romantic proposal under the stars—and she said yes!

The Wedding Vision

The couple wanted something different. Instead of the usual Rajasthan-style wedding, they chose a modern and unique theme. Their aim? A wedding where everyone—young or old—would have fun. From the décor to the food, everything felt fresh and creative, with dishes from North India, Brazil, and Peru.

The Wedding Destination

The celebrations started in Kolkata and then moved to Jodhpur. Vanshika always dreamed of a wedding in Rajasthan, and when she saw Jodhpur’s famous venues like Umaid Bhawan Palace, Bal Samand Lake, and Mehrangarh Fort, she fell in love. Sheetij loved the rustic charm of the city and its stunning architecture.

The Highlights

The wedding started with a welcome lunch at Umaid Bhawan Palace. Horses, live jazz by the Shiloh Choir, and a grand cake-cutting made it magical.

That evening, they hosted an Afro-themed sangeet by Bal Samand Lake. The night sparkled with a drone show and performances by Karan Aujla, Badshah, and DJ Chetas.

For the haldi ceremony, they mixed tradition with fun. Amidst Umaid Bhawan’s royal setting, friends danced to house music and covered the couple in haldi and laughter.

On the wedding day, a three-hour baraat at the palace gates was full of dance and joy. The palace shone with deep reds and golden lights, making it a picture-perfect setting.

The Grand Finale

The final afterparty at Mehrangarh Fort was like a Burning Man festival. Only close friends were invited. A trail with lasers, fire, and music led to the venue. Concept bars, house beats, and Bollywood music kept the party alive. Special performances by Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh, Nora Fatehi, and Kahani Music made the night unforgettable.

The Outfits

Vanshika wore stunning outfits for each event. For the lunch, she chose a white Manish Malhotra set. For the sangeet, she wore a sparkling gold and silver lehenga. At the haldi, she dressed in a colorful Osa lehenga. On the wedding day, she wowed everyone in a red Tarun Tahiliani lehenga. Finally, for the afterparty, she wore a white gown by Falguni Shane Peacock.
