Many airports in northern India have been closed for civilian flights after India carried out a military operation in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Due to safety and airspace restrictions, flights have been cancelled or delayed at several airports.

Affected Airports

Airports that are currently shut include:
Srinagar, Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Pathankot, Leh, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer. Flights in these areas have been stopped due to increased security after “Operation Sindoor.”

Airlines’ Response

Airlines like IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India, and Akasa Air have cancelled flights and shared travel updates.

  • IndiGo is offering rescheduling or refunds through their app.

  • Air India has cancelled flights to/from several cities until 12 noon on May 7 and is diverting some international flights to Delhi.

  • SpiceJet and Akasa Air also confirmed flight disruptions and cancellations.

What Travelers Should Do
