The National Park Service has announced six days in 2025 when you can visit U.S. national parks for free! These fee-free days allow travelers to explore some of the country’s most popular parks without paying an entrance fee.
Here are the dates to mark on your calendar:
- Jan. 20: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- April 19: First day of National Park Week
- June 19: Juneteenth
- Aug. 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
- Sept. 27: National Public Lands Day
- Nov. 11: Veterans Day
On these days, you can visit parks like Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Acadia, and Badlands without paying an entrance fee. However, fees for camping, boat launches, special tours, or transportation will still apply. Timed entry rules at some parks will also remain in place.
If you love exploring national parks year-round, consider getting the America the Beautiful National Parks Pass. It costs $80 annually and gives unlimited access to over 2,000 federal recreation areas, including all parks that usually charge an entrance fee.
Plan ahead, mark your calendars, and enjoy the beauty of U.S. national parks for free!
