In northern Spain, the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park has been named the best panoramic view in the world. From the rim of Ordesa Valley, visitors can see endless Pyrenees peaks, deep ravines, and green meadows lined with forests.
The honor was given by travel photographer Bella Falk and CEWE, a U.K. photo printing company. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Spain’s oldest protected areas, founded in 1918. Its highest point, Monte Perdido (also called the “lost mountain”), stands at 11,000 feet, making it the third-highest peak in the Pyrenees.
Ordesa y Monte Perdido won the top spot because of its variety of landscapes, breathtaking beauty, and easy accessibility. Unlike other spots, visitors don’t need special hiking gear to enjoy the views. The scenery beat out world-famous places like Machu Picchu in Peru and Torres del Paine in Chile.
Photographer Falk explained, “The best panoramas give you scale and perspective, with powerful views that make you stop and admire them for longer.”
