A stay at the stunning Arijiju lodge in Kenya’s Laikipia Plateau turned into an unforgettable adventure. From here, a group of friends took a morning helicopter ride over Northern Kenya’s amazing landscapes. With expert guides and photographers, they flew in two choppers and started exploring wildlife, mountains, villages, rivers, and lakes from the sky.
As the sun rose, the helicopter flew over green hills, forests, and huge ranches filled with animals like elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, and impalas. They also saw Samburu tribe villages with traditional huts and camels grazing nearby.
The flight entered the beautiful Mukutan Gorge, with tall green cliffs and palm trees. The pilot flew skillfully through narrow valleys, making the ride thrilling and magical.
Next, they flew over Lake Baringo, full of birds. People from the Njep tribe were seen fishing on rafts. Giraffes, ostriches, and other wildlife moved peacefully below.
A stop at a Pokot tribal village became a special moment. Women in colorful beads danced and sang, and men dressed in traditional warrior outfits joined them. It felt like stepping into another world full of culture and tradition.
Then the helicopter doors opened for a better view, giving an incredible 180-degree sight of land untouched by humans.
The trip continued over volcanic landscapes, lava fields, rocky towers, painted hills, and even sand dunes in the Saguta Valley. Each place looked like a scene from a different planet.
They also saw Lake Logipi covered with thousands of pink flamingos—an unforgettable sight. Later, they enjoyed a peaceful lunch under a big tree with lake views.
Flying further, they reached Lake Turkana, the world’s biggest desert lake. The landscape quickly changed from hot desert to cool green mountains and forests filled with old cedar trees.
