Puerto Escondido, a beautiful beach town on Mexico’s Oaxacan coast, has become one of Airbnb’s top-trending travel spots. If you love a relaxed surf lifestyle, we found the perfect tiny home for you!

Just outside Puerto Escondido, you’ll find Casa Tiny, a cozy house built for two guests. Designed by architect Aranza de Ariño, this tiny home is inspired by the simple life ideas from Henry David Thoreau’s famous book, Walden. It shows how true happiness can come from living close to nature.

The home is surrounded by wild beauty, offering peaceful views of greenery and clear blue skies. Casa Tiny is made of strong concrete, with a gabled roof and beautiful wooden patio doors made from local parota wood. The design brings the outdoors inside, with wide doors and windows that open to the fresh air.

Inside, there’s a long dining table that also works as a kitchen counter, stretching out onto the patio. A small set of stairs leads up to the loft bedroom, where a double bed and a big window offer gorgeous views.

The bathroom is right underneath the loft, with sliding wooden shutters that open to the outdoors too.

Even though it’s a tiny house, Casa Tiny feels luxurious. It has a private pool and a pizza oven! Plus, it’s just a short walk to a quiet beach where you can relax.

While staying here, you can also explore nearby activities like:

  • Visiting mezcal distilleries

  • Eating at local restaurants

  • Horseback riding and surfing

  • Watching free beach movies

  • Joining a turtle release experience to help wildlife
