Fall season in Delaware just got more exciting! The famous Wilmington & Western Railroad in Wilmington is back after nine months of repairs, and it’s ready to take visitors through beautiful fall views.

This historic train runs through the Red Clay Valley, a stunning countryside area known for its colorful fall leaves. If you want to enjoy Delaware’s peak fall colors, now is the time — the best views are between late October and early November.

Ride the Hayride Express

For a fun seasonal adventure, try the Hayride Express. Instead of normal seats, you sit on hay bales on open flatbed rail cars — like a hay wagon!

  • Duration: 40 minutes

  • Timings: 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm, and 6:30 pm daily till Nov 2

  • Price: $18–$20

Bring a blanket — evenings can get chilly — and enjoy a cozy ride under the stars.
