Travelers looking for great hiking trails have plenty of options across the U.S., but Wyoming stands out as the best state for hiking. With its well-maintained trails, beautiful forests, mountains, and lakes, Wyoming is home to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park, making it perfect for hikers of all levels.

According to a study by EDGE Fall Protection, Wyoming’s combination of natural beauty and hiking infrastructure makes it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. The state’s growing popularity shows that more people are getting interested in hiking and outdoor activities.

Hawaii came in second, offering amazing rainforest and mountain hikes with ocean views, but trail maintenance is harder due to the tough terrain. New Hampshire ranked third, famous for the Appalachian Trail and stunning fall scenery. Montana and Alaska completed the top five.

At the bottom of the list was North Dakota, followed by Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Nebraska.
