Traveling should be fun, but sometimes the airline you choose can affect your whole trip. To help travelers, AirHelp — a company that works for passenger rights — released its new 2025 ranking of the best and worst airlines in the world.
AirHelp created the list by checking:
-
On-time performance (how often flights take off and land on time)
-
How quickly airlines handle complaints and claims (like lost bags or delays)
-
Passenger reviews from thousands of travelers across 54 countries, rating food, comfort, and crew service
After studying all the data, Qatar Airways was named the best airline in the world, with a score of 8.16 out of 10. It regained its No. 1 position after briefly dropping to No. 2 in 2024.
Next on the list is Etihad Airways, scoring 8.07, jumping from 11th place last year.
Virgin Atlantic came in third with a score of 8.03, rising all the way from No. 30 in 2024.
The top 10 list includes:
Qantas, KM Malta Airlines, Aeromexico, Oman Air, Saudia, Brussels Airlines, and LOT Polish Airlines.
AirHelp noted that no U.S. airline made it into the top 10 this year.
-
American Airlines ranked highest among U.S. carriers at No. 11
-
United ranked 13
-
Delta ranked 15
-
Frontier ranked 36
-
JetBlue ranked the lowest among U.S. airlines at No. 89 (but still improved from No. 90 last year)
