Just 30 minutes from Bengaluru Airport in Rajanukunte, Dhakshini Vintage Project is a perfect villa for a weekend getaway with family or friends.

The Story

Built in the 1990s by architect Renu Mistry, this stone house belonged to Sudha and Chandru Chandrasekaran, founders of Dhakshini Antiques. Their daughter, Preetha Chandrasekaran, now runs the antique store and has turned their home into a charming rental villa filled with rare antiques and family heirlooms.

The Design

Spread across half an acre with coconut trees and a lawn, the home features:

  • A grand Chettinad teakwood door
  • Antique furniture, vintage paintings, and collectibles from Tamil Nadu and Kerala
  • Three bedrooms with antique beds, ensuite bathrooms, and balconies
  • A cosy library, indoor dining, WiFi, and a karaoke machine

The Experience

Guests can relax on a swing bed, enjoy a picnic, or dine outdoors. The staff serves local dishes like dosa, puri with sagu, and gobi manchurian. Guests can also request a bonfire or a candle-lit dinner.
