You know that perfect cozy moment—sitting in a big chair with a hot drink and your favorite book as the sun sets? Some cities feel just like that, and Seoul is one of them!
In late 2024, travel insurance company All Clear shared a study listing the coziest cities around the world. They looked for places that feel warm, calm, and relaxing. To rate each city, they checked how many coffee shops, bookstores, cinemas, theaters, and museums were packed into each area. They also looked at old buildings (especially UNESCO World Heritage Sites), rainy days, and even how often people used #cozy on social media.
Seoul: The Coziest in Asia
Seoul, South Korea, came out on top as the coziest city in Asia, and 19th in the world. Why?
-
It has a huge number of coffee shops—more than 10,000 in Seoul alone!
-
It’s home to three UNESCO World Heritage sites: Jongmyo Shrine, Changdeokgung Palace, and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty.
-
It rains about 80 days a year, which makes staying inside with a warm drink feel extra cozy.
But the coziest city in the world? That’s Brussels, Belgium! Its old buildings, chocolate, and waffles make it a perfect spot for a winter getaway. Other top cities include Paris, Geneva, Copenhagen, and Lisbon.
So, if you love cozy vibes, warm drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere, Seoul should be on your travel list!
