Travelers in 2025 are skipping short getaways and choosing longer vacations to fully experience a destination. With bad tourist behavior and tourism making headlines in 2024, people now prefer slow travel over rushing through packed tourist spots.

According to Skift Research, travel companies expect a 24% rise in planned trips for 2025, with long leisure vacations being the top choice, especially in China, India, and Germany. In the U.S., many are planning extended international trips.

Luxury travelers are now staying for around 13.5 days per trip, choosing single-destination travel over multi-country tours. Experts call this the trend of “depth over breadth”—where travelers immerse themselves in one place rather than hopping between locations.

A growing number of people are also embracing “bleisure” (business + leisure) travel, mixing work with vacations. India leads with 92% of travelers planning blended trips, followed by China (84%), Germany (79%), and the U.S. & UK (72%).

Another viral trend is “PTO hacking”, where travelers use paid holidays wisely to extend their vacations. TikTok videos now show how to turn 11 paid days into 44 travel days through strategic planning.

🌍 Top Bucket List Destinations for 2025:

  • U.S. Travelers: England, Japan, Italy, Mexico, Paris
  • UK Travelers: Dubai, Italy, Spain, the U.S., Paris

📢 The Verdict:
The new way to travel is to slow down, stay longer, and truly experience the culture. Whether it’s sipping coffee in a quiet café or chatting with locals, 2025 is all about quality over quantity.
