Chef Will Aghajanian, known for his bold ideas and creative cooking, is launching Kaspers, a bright, fun, and stylish bistro in Bandra, Mumbai. The space feels like his personal scrapbook—filled with memories, inspirations, and quirky design touches he has collected from around the world.
A Fresh Start in Mumbai
Will moved to India two years ago to work with The Table. After going through a tough phase in his personal life and career in the US, cooking in Mumbai helped him reset. The team at The Table supported him, and the restaurant earned top rankings soon after.
Slowly, Will began imagining a new bistro—one that felt warm, artistic, and filled with personality. With the support of restaurateurs Jay Yousuf and Gauri Devidayal, Kaspers took shape in a small corner space on St. Andrews Road in Bandra.
The Space
Kaspers is bright, playful, and full of unique details:
-
Colorful murals painted by Will’s friend Kacper Abolik, who inspired the name “Kaspers.”
-
Walls lined with empty wine bottles Will collected on his travels.
-
A long red banquette, mismatched café chairs, and mosaic floors.
-
A dramatic curtain hiding a quirky bathroom featuring a vintage Thomas Crapper toilet.
-
Paper-covered tables with crayons so guests can draw and add to the restaurant’s “canvas.”
The vibe is relaxed, creative, and designed to feel like home.
The Food
The menu is simple but full of technique—classic European bistro dishes with Will’s twist. Some highlights include:
-
Mud crab gratin with lamb brain and Bengali dijonnaise
-
Sea bream tartare with browned-butter vinaigrette
-
Chèvre terrazzo toast, a dish that looks like an edible mosaic
-
Tomato bun, a surprise favorite
-
Salt-roasted tiger prawns
-
Buffalo tenderloin steak grilled over special Basque-style grape vine cuttings
-
Kaspers burger with Worcestershire glaze and jalapeño cheese
-
Tiramisu, similar to The Table’s famous one
-
Canelé tart with coconut milk for an Indian touch
The menu will keep changing as Will loves experimenting.
Drinks
The cocktails are classic, elegant, and strong—nothing too fancy:
-
Ortiz Margarita
-
Rob Roy
-
Umeshu Spritz
-
Filthy Martini served in full, frosted glasses
Will even designed glasses with marks showing the perfect pouring level.
The Experience
Kaspers aims to be a place where people come as they are, relax, and enjoy good food, drinks, music, and art. Late-night snacks, fun playlists, and a cozy vibe make it great for lingering.
The bistro opens daily for dinner (except Mondays), with plans for breakfast and lunch soon.
