Fall is here, and many travelers are hitting the road to see beautiful autumn colors. A new study found that Niagara Falls, New York, is the most searched fall destination in the U.S., with over one million Google searches. The mix of colorful fall leaves and the powerful waterfalls makes it a perfect place to visit this season.
Niagara Falls has three waterfalls — Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. Visitors can enjoy amazing views from the Observation Tower in New York, and even cross the Rainbow Bridge to Canada for another great lookout point.
There are many fun ways to experience the falls up close, like taking the famous Maid of the Mist boat ride on the U.S. side or the Hornblower cruise in Canada. You can also walk through tunnels behind the falls, ride a helicopter above them, or try the “Niagara Takes Flight” virtual experience.
After seeing the waterfalls, travelers can explore the beautiful Niagara Parkway in Canada or visit nearby Buffalo, New York, for hiking trails, good food, craft beer, and fall festivals.
Other popular fall locations include Aspen, Colorado; Glacier National Park; Acadia and Rocky Mountain National Parks; and Virginia’s Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah National Park.
