Bengaluru’s food and bar scene is growing fast, and the latest addition, Bar Sama, brings something fresh to the mix. Located near MG Road, this stylish new cocktail bar combines Thai flavours with Singaporean flair, offering a unique blend of food, drinks, and design.
The name Sama means “balance” in Kannada, which perfectly reflects the bar’s concept. It’s founded by Pratheek Reddy, known for his popular Mexican restaurant Comal, and Chef-Partner Vichita Kumar, who adds her creative touch to the kitchen. Together, they’ve built a place where flavour, design, and experience come together beautifully.
Drinks with Global Inspiration
Bar Sama has teamed up with Singapore’s famous Cat Bite Club, one of Asia’s top bars, to design its cocktail menu. The drinks are refreshing, creative, and perfectly balanced. Must-try options include Eve’s Afternoon (a light, crisp drink with green apple and prosecco), Pulp Friction (a smoky mezcal cocktail with citrus and peppercorn), and Chilli On, a spicy take on the classic Picante.
Food with a Thai Twist
Chef Vichita has created a Thai-inspired food menu that pairs perfectly with the drinks. Popular dishes include Kra-Pao Potato Chips, White Lotus Beef Salad, Asparagus & Tofu, Chicken Skewers, and Soft-Shell Crab Jungle Curry. Each dish is bold, flavourful, and balanced—just like the cocktails.
The Space
Designed by Studio Grain, Bar Sama features a mix of old and new Bangalore vibes. The interiors blend charcoal tones, greenery, art deco touches, and cozy lighting, giving it a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere.
