Celebrity Cruises has decided to skip Haiti on several of its sailings in 2025 and 2026. The cruise line updated 11 itineraries, removing the stop at Labadee, Haiti, a private port on the country’s northern coast. Most of these changes affect the Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Beyond ships.
The cruise line said the decision was made to give passengers a safer and better experience. Instead of Labadee, travelers will now visit destinations like Turks and Caicos, Grand Cayman, or Cozumel in Mexico.
Before this change, Labadee was a popular stop for cruise guests, offering activities like snorkeling, fishing, ziplining, and coastal tours. However, due to safety concerns in Haiti, Celebrity has removed it from its routes.
Haiti is currently under a Level Four travel advisory from the U.S. State Department, which warns people not to travel there because of violent crimes, kidnappings, and unrest. The country has also been under a state of emergency.
Celebrity Cruises made this move shortly after Royal Caribbean—its parent company—also canceled visits to Labadee through April 2026, citing safety concerns.
