Anguilla has been named the safest country in the Caribbean, thanks to its low crime rates and peaceful environment, according to the World Population Review’s Global Peace Index.
The island is famous for its 33 white sand beaches, golf courses, water activities like sailing and boat racing, and a lively food scene, earning it the title “Culinary Capital of the Caribbean.”
While safety rankings are useful, travelers should also check other sources for a complete picture of safety. The U.S. Department of State currently rates Anguilla as Level 1, meaning “exercise normal precautions.”
Visitors can also sign up for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to get updates and safety alerts during their international trips.
