Houston-based couple Krystal Ann Joseph and Anthony Hariri celebrated their wedding in Istanbul this July, combining Indian and Persian traditions. The couple wanted their wedding to reflect “coming together,” blending East and West, city life and nature.
The Destination
Istanbul was chosen for its location between India and Iran, reflecting the couple’s roots. Events were held across the city: the welcome party was on a Bosphorus boat during sunset, the sangeet took place at Divan Kuruçeşme with panoramic views, and the wedding ceremony was at the historic Çırağan Palace Kempinski.
The Details
The celebrations were kept in the evenings, allowing guests to explore the city during the day. The pre-wedding mehendi honored the bride’s Kerala roots, and the groom’s family performed a dance blending Persian and Bollywood music.
