If you’ve ever traveled to a new city and felt like you missed out on seeing it properly, you’re not alone. That’s why walking vacations are becoming more popular. In fact, searches for “walking vacations” have gone up by 29% this year. It’s easy to see why—they let you explore more, get some exercise, and save money on transport.

Now, a new study by FitFlop has revealed the best U.S. city for walking—and it’s Seattle!

The study looked at 30 big U.S. cities and ranked them based on how easy it is to walk between their top five attractions. They considered distance, time, steps, elevation, and the city’s Walk Score. Seattle came out on top.

In just a 1.4-mile area, you can visit these top spots:

  • Chihuly Garden and Glass (famous glass art)

  • The Space Needle

  • Pike Place Market

  • Museum of Pop Culture

  • Washington State Ferries terminal

You can walk to all of them in just 32 minutes and take about 3,360 steps. Along the way, you’ll enjoy art, culture, views, and local flavors.

Seattle is also known for its nature, a vibrant Chinatown, and fun experiences like hot tub boats! You can even explore more within the same area, like the Museum of History & Industry, peaceful parks, and a model boat pond.

And when you’re hungry, grab a burger and watch a game at Queen Anne Beerhall, or try fresh ceviche at Sal Y Limón.

Seattle is truly perfect for travelers who love to walk, explore, and enjoy everything in one place.
