Travelers in the U.S. can now fly directly from Seattle (SEA) to Tokyo (NRT) thanks to a new route launched by Alaska Airlines Group. The flight takes 10.5 hours and leaves Seattle at 1:30 p.m., reaching Tokyo the next day at 4:00 p.m.
This new flight is operated by Hawaiian Airlines, which was recently acquired by Alaska Airlines. However, both airlines are still running under their brand names. Passengers will fly on a comfortable Airbus A330-200, which includes Wi-Fi, in-seat charging ports, and personal entertainment screens.
Hawaiian Airlines’ CEO, Joe Sprague, said the airline has been flying to Tokyo for almost 15 years and is excited to now work with Alaska Airlines to bring more travelers from the Pacific Northwest to Japan.
Round-trip tickets are available for as low as $612 or 37,500 miles, making this a great deal for those planning a trip to Tokyo.
This is just the beginning of Alaska Air Group’s international plans. The company hopes to launch more global routes soon, including flights to Europe by 2026, and wants to fly to at least 12 international cities from Seattle by 2030.
