If you’re looking to live a happier life, you might want to consider moving to Copenhagen, Denmark. The city has just been named the happiest city in the world by the Institute for Quality of Life.
Every year, the institute releases a “Happy City Index” that ranks cities based on how well they promote happiness. They look at things like education, the economy, healthcare, green spaces, and how inclusive and eco-friendly the city is. They also interview people living in each city.
This year, Copenhagen topped the list. The city is known for its strong education system, clean environment, good healthcare, and transparent government. People in Copenhagen enjoy a healthy lifestyle, with an average workweek of 37 hours and a high life expectancy of almost 80 years.
Other cities in the top five include Zurich (Switzerland), Singapore, Aarhus (another city in Denmark), and Antwerp (Belgium). The United States also made the list, with New York ranked 17th and Minneapolis at 30th.
The Institute also said that no city is perfect, but it’s important to celebrate cities that are making life better for their people.
