The Philippines is all set to introduce a new digital nomad visa, perfect for remote workers who dream of living by the beach. This visa will let eligible workers stay in the country for one year and can be renewed after that.

To apply, you must show proof of enough income, have health insurance, and no criminal record. You can’t work for a local company—only for companies outside the Philippines. This visa is only available to people from countries that have visa agreements with the Philippines.

Other Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and South Korea already offer similar visas. But the Philippines stands out for its low cost of living, beautiful beaches, lively cities, and the fact that English is widely spoken.

Tourism officials believe this visa will help boost the economy, especially during off-peak seasons, and bring in more diverse visitors.

The visa is still being finalized, with help from several government departments. It will be launched soon.
