Disneyland is officially coming to Abu Dhabi! The Walt Disney Company has announced plans to open its first theme park in the Middle East on Yas Island. This will be the company’s seventh resort worldwide and marks a big step into the region.

The project will be developed in partnership with Miral, an Abu Dhabi-based developer known for creating popular leisure spots. The resort will blend Disney’s magic with the cultural charm of the UAE. It will feature themed hotels, original attractions, dining, and shopping, all designed in a modern style. The exact opening date is still to be announced, but the resort promises a fully immersive Disney experience with a unique Abu Dhabi twist.

The resort will be built along Yas Island’s waterfront, taking advantage of beautiful sea views. The design will be led by Disney’s Imagineers, who are famous for creating Disney parks worldwide.

Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, said this is an exciting moment for the company, calling Disneyland Abu Dhabi “authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati.”

Yas Island is already home to other major theme parks, including Warner Bros. World, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, and Ferrari World, so the addition of Disneyland will make it an even bigger entertainment hub. The location is also strategic, with easy access for tourists from around the world.

Details about the themed areas and attractions will be shared soon.
