As winter arrives in Saratoga, a small town in Wyoming, the place turns calm, snowy, and beautiful. Located between the Sierra Madre and Medicine Bow mountain ranges, and about 98 miles from Laramie, Saratoga is home to just 1,700 people. It’s known for wide open valleys, snowy peaks, and wildlife like elk, deer, and moose.
Winter is the best time to visit Saratoga. People come here to slow down, enjoy nature, relax in natural hot springs, and spend most of their day outdoors.
Though quiet, Saratoga is a hidden winter adventure spot. Snowmobiling is very popular, with hundreds of miles of trails in nearby mountains. Beginners can join guided tours, while experienced riders enjoy deep snow and open meadows. For skiing, Snowy Range Ski Area is less than two hours away. For something special, Green Mountain offers private skiing with snowcats, just minutes from town.
Families and travelers looking for a peaceful winter trip can enjoy snowshoeing, ice skating, shopping, and relaxing spa treatments.
Mike Kustic from Wyoming Outdoor Adventures says Saratoga is perfect for people who love the outdoors. “It’s small, but there’s a lot to do here. It’s a fun little place,” he says.
